Tobias Lauer received his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Freiburg in January 2007. From 1993
till 2000, he studied Mathematics, Computer Science, and English Language and Literature in Freiburg and at
Gustavus Adolphus College in St Peter, MN, USA. From 2001 to 2003, he worked for the
ULI project sponsored by the German Ministry for Education
and Research (BMBF). From 2004 to 2006, his doctoral work was funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG).
Among his research interests are algorithms & data structures, their animation and visualization,
multimedia technology, and human-computer interaction.
Tobias is currently working on efficient algorithms and data structures for
in-memory OLAP in his
own DFG-sponsored research project conducted in collaboration with
Jedox AG.
